Heritage Community of Kalamazoo (HCK) is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization and financial support from our generous donors is an essential part to our on-going operations and success.

As a mission driven organization, our first priority is to serve our residents regardless of their ability to pay for those services. HCK has not, nor will we refuse to care for one of our residents if they exhaust their resources and are no longer able to pay for their care. Every year HCK absorbs or otherwise provides approximately $2 million dollars in benevolent, charity or under-funded care to our residents.

That commitment to our residents demands that we be an efficient, well-managed organization of Retirement Communities in Michigan. We take our role as stewards very seriously and manage our resources in a professional manner and with great care. But we need additional help from others in order to fully meet the needs of our residents. Funding for capital improvements, equipment, supply and program needs can create a heavy burden on our operations and the contributions to our Foundation provide an enormous lift and benefit.

In addition to being an efficient organization, we also strive to be an effective one and want our donors (and potential donors) to know that HCK is a progressive and dynamic organization of Retirement Communities in Michigan that provides innovative, high-quality services to our residents. We have worked hard to create a special place for seniors and ask that you join with us to make our mission to “Celebrate Life and honor the Soul” a continuing success.
